Donations Needed For No Budget - No Pay Initiative

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, November 10, 2008 --- At the California State Grange annual convention held last month in Sacramento the delegates voted unanimously to pursue a No Budget – No Pay initiative that would require California legislators to approve a state budget on time, or suffer consequences.

The first step in the process will be to retain a constitutional attorney to review the initiative draft.  Donations are being requested to make that happen.  Donation checks should be made out to the California State Grange with a notation in the memo field; “NBNP”.  Please mail donations to the California State Grange, 3830 U Street, Sacramento, California  95817

Community Movies Attract New Families

Want a fun and easy way to attract new families to your Grange and make a little money, too?  Try putting on a free Community Movie Night.

It works best if you can offer a Community Movie Series.  Show one movie on the first Saturday of the month, for example, for six months.  Start the movies at 7:00pm or 7:30pm.  Any earlier and it will be too light outside (the darker the better for a good projected image).  Any later and the movie will run past the kids’ bed time.
